“Theory, Innovation, and AI: Shaping the Future of Operations Research”

The Operations Research Network of Thailand 2026 (OR-NET 2026) will be proudly organized by the Modeling and Simulation Association (Thailand), chaired by the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, and co-chaired by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). Building on the tradition of advancing knowledge and collaboration in operations research, this year’s conference brings together scholars, practitioners, and students to explore both the foundations of the field and its emerging frontiers.
The theme of OR-NET 2026 highlights four key clusters: Core Operations Research, Data Analytics & AI, Design of Experiments & Statistical Modeling, and Applications in Supply Chain, Healthcare, Energy, and Sustainability. Contributions span from rigorous mathematical programming, game theory, queuing systems, network optimization, and heuristics, to cutting-edge topics such as reinforcement learning for logistics, digital twins for system optimization, and causal inference in operations. In parallel, the program emphasizes the integration of classical and modern statistical design—ranging from factorial and response surface methods to computer experiments—demonstrating their role in solving complex industrial, healthcare, and service challenges.
By fostering dialogue across disciplines, OR-NET 2026 aims to strengthen the Thai and international OR communities, connect fundamental research with real-world problem solving, and shape the role of operations research in addressing global challenges such as resilient supply chains, sustainable energy, healthcare efficiency, and human–AI collaboration.
